The Review of the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro

Parkway Chevrolet is excited for the upcoming Camaro, and wanted to take a moment to give you the information that has been revealed so far. The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro is expected to arrive as a 2015 or 2016 model year vehicle in 2015. The vehicle will be all-new (completely reengineered and redesigned) and is will be smaller and lighter than the fifth-generation model — improving the driving experience, performance, and fuel economy.

While the fifth-generation Camaro is a very capable sports car, the Camaro team has recognized several areas of improvement for the next-generation vehicle. Most notably, these include size/dimensions, weight, and outside visibility from the cabin — all elements that have been noted as detracting from an exceptional driving experience in the 5th-gen model.
As such, the next-gen Camaro is expected to shrink in size, be lighter, and offer better visibility than the outgoing model — all elements that will allow the vehicle to be more agile and driver-oriented. The improvements will be made possible by migrating the sixth-gen Camaro to an all-new vehicle architecture (platform).
Some insiders have described the sixth-gen Camaro as being more along the lines of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe — itself a highly-praised sports car.

The 2015 Camaro will use a variant of GM’s new rear-wheel-drive vehicle architecture known as Alpha. The platform, shared with the 2013 ATS and 2014 CTS from Cadillac, is expected to help with reducing the weight of the new Camaro by anywhere from 150-300 pounds.

Powertrain

The 2015 Camaro is expected to offer the following engine choices:
2.0 liter turbocharged I4 LTG
3.6 liter naturally aspirated V6 LFX
New 3.6 liter twin turbo V6 LF3
New 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 Small Block LT1
New 7.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 Small Block (LS7 successor)
New supercharged V8 Small Block
All engines will be direct injected and feature Variable Valve Timing, among other features.

The sixth-gen Camaro is expected to jettison the classic-inspired design of the fifth-generation model and adopt an all-new design that’s modern and contemporary. The styling may have been previewed by the Chevrolet CODE 130R Concept originally unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show.
While not much is known about the interior of the 2015 Camaro, the cabin of Chevy’s new affordable sports car is expected to be redesigned for better ergonomics, more high-technology, and an improved driver position while utilizing better materials throughout.

General Motors has confirmed that the 2015 Camaro will be produced at its Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan, alongside the Cadillac ATS and 2014 CTS. By contrast, the 5th-gen 2010-2014 Camaro was produced at GM’s Oshawa assembly plant in Canada.

Make no mistake; the new Camaro will be in plentiful supply to the Greater Houston area. We at Parkway Chevy want to be your final destination for the Camaro and all of you Chevrolet needs. If you have any questions, please feel free to stop by or drop us a line via Facebook.

The Review of the 2014 Chevy Equinox

The Chevrolet Equinox comes with a four-cylinder engine that reviewers think is underpowered. A V6 engine is also available, and reviewers prefer the additional power that it provides. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, and test drivers write that it performs well with either engine. The base Equinox gets 22/32 mpg city/highway, which is good for an affordable compact SUV. Automotive journalists appreciate the Equinox’s comfortable ride, and note that it handles adequately. However, some also write that SUVs like the Ford Escape and Mazda CX-5 are more athletic. As a result, many agree that the Equinox isn't very fun to drive.

Test drivers say the 2014 Equinox has an attractive, spacious cabin that is well-built and features quality materials. They agree that the front and rear seats are roomy and comfortable. The Equinox offers a good amount of cargo space for the class, though it has a bit less cargo space than rivals like the Honda CR-V. Reviewers write that the Equinox has straightforward controls and that the optional infotainment system is easy to use. The 2014 Chevrolet Equinox comes standard with a six-speaker stereo with auxiliary and USB ports, satellite radio and Bluetooth phone connectivity. Available features include leather upholstery, heated front seats, Chevy’s MyLink infotainment system, navigation, a rear-seat entertainment system, a backup camera, forward collision alert, lane departure warning and a power liftgate.

Here are some of the statements and reviews of the 2014 Chevy Equinox
"The 2014 Chevy Equinox is a worthy choice for a small crossover SUV, particularly if you're interested in one with a nice highway ride and an available V6 engine." -- Edmunds

"If [you] want a comfortable family/gear hauler that's larger than other compact crossover SUVs but small enough to be at ease in parking lots, the Equinox is worth a look." -- Kelley Blue Book

"But if you have to have a V6 and you like a SUV with all the trimmings and don't mind paying more for it -- the Equinox still makes a solid case for itself." -- AutoWeek (2013)

Chevy Sweeps the 2014 Car and Truck of the Year Award

Ingenuity has its rewards. Announced on January 13, 2014, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, the all-new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Chevrolet Silverado have earned the titles of 2014 North American Car and Truck of the Year, respectively. This marks only the third time in the awards’ 21-year history that one automaker has swept both awards, which is a feat that Parkway Chevrolet could not be more proud of.

“It is a distinct honor for the entire Chevrolet team to have both Corvette and Silverado recognized with these prestigious awards,” said Alan Batey, General Motors senior vice president, Global Chevrolet. “Chevrolet is in the midst of the most aggressive product transformation in the brand’s more than 100-year history. Corvette and Silverado truly embody the passion, commitment and focus that is driving us to deliver the most expressive designs, innovative technologies and engaging performance in every vehicle that wears the bowtie.”

North American Car and Truck of the Year are awarded annually at the start of media week at the NAIAS. Forty-nine automotive journalists from the United States and Canada vote to recognize the most outstanding vehicles of the year based on factors including innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value for the dollar.

North American Car of the Year is just the latest of more than 20 awards and recommendations the 2014 Corvette Stingray has received since its introduction last fall, making it the industry’s most awarded car of the year. Stingray is the most powerful standard Corvette model ever with 455 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque from a 6.2L V8 engine. And it packs an even more impressive 460 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque with the available performance exhaust system, enabling models with the available Z51 Performance Package to sprint from 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds. The Stingray engine features advanced technologies including Direct Injection, Variable Valve Timing and Active Fuel Management to balance performance with the greatest efficiency of any sports car on the market — an EPA-estimated 29 MPG highway when equipped with the 7-speed manual transmission. Learn more about the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray.
The all-new 2014 Silverado completed the sweep, winning the award for North American Truck of the Year. Silverado was recognized for features such as its available 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine, which generates 355 horsepower for confident towing and hauling, yet seamlessly switches to four cylinders to save fuel during light-load driving. With an EPA-estimated 23 MPG highway, Silverado offers the best fuel economy of any V8 pickup. Silverado 1500 also recently received the highest possible 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for Safety† as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program. To learn more about any of these vehicles and what options that are available and are in the Houston area, please visit Parkway Chevrolet, or message us on Facebook here.

2015 Chevrolet SS getting manual transmission, Magnetic Ride suspension

We're big fans of the Chevrolet SS here at Parkway Chevrolet, west coast editor Michael Harley recently saying the Aussie import "comes across as a polished, and very well-rounded, sport sedan package that is more focused on performance than the others." Those others, of course, being competitors like the larger Dodge Charger SRT8 or even the Chevy's more luxurious cousin, the Cadillac CTS Vsport. Now, if reports swirling 'round the internet are true, the SS will be getting another performance-focused addition for the 2015 model year, and it's one we're seriously stoked about: a manual transmission.

This information comes courtesy of Motor Trend editor Jonny Lieberman, who broke the news on Twitter. In addition to the do-it-yourself gearbox, the 2015 SS will also reportedly use General Motors' excellent Magnetic Ride suspension – what's found on the Corvette, among other cars. That setup, combined with a proper row-your-own transmission, should make for one absolutely lovely SS.

When reached for comment, GM spokesperson Afaf Farah told Autoblog, "We have not made any new announcements about the Chevrolet SS." According to Lieberman's tweet, the updated SS will make its debut at the annual Woodward Dream Cruise in August.

The 2015 Chevy Impala Bi-Fuel Burns Combustible Natural Gas

Parkway Chevrolet is a huge advocate to the environment, which is evident in their Natural Gas Vehicle focus of the past few years. There is a huge buzz around the direction that the vehicle line is going in. Currently, the only natural-gas-powered passenger car offered for sale by an OEM in the US is the Honda Civic Natural Gas. Starting this fall, that long-running CNG car will be joined by a CNG-burning 2015 Chevy Impala for both fleet and retail customers. General Motors announced today that the car will start at $37,385, plus an $825 destination charge. That comes to $38,210 before taxes and options.

Those options include two trim lines, the base LS and the upper-level LT. Chevy doesn't break out the details in the press release announcing the price, but you can see the trim details for the standard gas-powered 2014 Impala here. Exact information on the 2015 models is not available just yet, but GM spokesman Chad Lyons told AutoblogGreen that the equipment that you see listed on the site for 2014 is "almost exactly the same" as what will be available for 2015.

The 2015 Impala gets around 19 city mpg on CNG, but official EPA numbers are not yet available.

That means the LS will come with 18-inch aluminum wheels, electric variable-assist power steering, projector-beam headlamps, and 10 air bags. The LT adds an eight-inch touch screen with MyLink, premium Cloth interior and dual-zone automatic climate controls. The cost for this upgrade is unspecified. For CNG purposes, we can ignore the numerical prefix used for the gas-powered LT trims, since that denominates the engine type, and all the CNG models use a 3.6-liter engine with hardened valves and valve seats that can better handle natural gas. The trunk capacity also drops from 18.8 cubic feet to 10 cu .ft. in order to fit in the CNG tank that holds the equivalent of 7.8 gallons of gas. That amount of CNG should move you 150 city miles, which is around 19 mpg, but official EPA numbers are not yet available. With the addition of the gasoline on board, the overall range is 500 city miles. The car burns CNG when available and switches to gas with "no interruption" either when the tank is empty or when the driver selects the gas tank. Find more details in the press release below.

GM says the CNG Impala will will be available nationwide this fall. CNG is a growing fuel in the US, thanks in part to fracking. The Civic Natural Gas, which starts at $26,640, is growing towards a nationwide availability. Next year, for example, the Shell Eco-marathon Americas in Detroit will allow CNG for the first time. Parkway Chevrolet is really excited for this new move in this direction. We look forward to seeing if the other Chevy lines will follow suit. This is also a huge benefit for the Parkway family who has their hands in the NGV business, and is a huge advocate for a greener earth.

Chevy Continues to Transform onto the Big Screen

Parkway Chevrolet is proud that announce that Chevrolet and a Camaro that converts into the iconic Bumblebee will once again turn heads when the Transformers movie franchise returns to screens around the globe in the upcoming “Transformers: Age of Extinction” from director Michael Bay, in theaters June 27.

The latest film also features Chevrolet's sold around the world including a Corvette Stingray that converts to Autobot Crosshairs, a Trax and a Sonic outfitted as a Rally Car.

The fifth-generation Camaro converted into Bumblebee in the 2007 film “Transformers,” the 2009 film “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and the 2011 film “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” The latest edition features two Camaros specifically built for the film, one a heavily modified vintage 1967 Camaro SS and the other a futuristic concept Camaro.

“The Transformers movies have been a great partnership for Chevrolet by allowing us to introduce our vehicles to new fans, young and old, around the world,” said Tim Mahoney, chief marketing officer, Global Chevrolet. “Now for the fourth time, you’ll see a Camaro as a heroic Autobot, a fitting role for one of the stars of Chevrolet’s lineup.”

Said Lee Anne Stables, executive vice president of Worldwide Marketing Partnerships for Paramount Pictures: “The Chevrolet partnership with this iconic Michael Bay movie franchise has become one of the longest-running and most innovative movie-brand relationships in film history. This new Chevy campaign will definitely bring new and exciting elements to a global audience of Transformers movie fans around the world.”

In addition to providing vehicles for the production, General Motors’ locations for filming included GM Design at the Warren Technical Center, the Milford Proving Ground and the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant.

Chevrolet Joins the Fight Against Cancer

Chevrolet Stands Strong with the American Cancer Society

Parkway Chevrolet is proud of the brand and its involvement with The American Cancer Society Chevrolet’s Purple Roads initiative helps patients get to treatment • Social media users asked to purple their profiles to support Road to Recovery

DETROIT – Today Chevrolet announced it will donate $1  – up to a total of $1 million – for each Facebook and Twitter user who changes his or her profile to purple, the color of cancer survival, in time for World Cancer Day on Feb. 4.

The Purple Roads initiative will help the American Cancer Society raise money and awareness for its Road to Recovery program, which provides transportation to and from treatment for people who have cancer and do not have a ride. Volunteer drivers donate time and the use of their cars so that patients can receive the life-saving treatments they need. Road to Recovery offered nearly 1 million rides last year alone.
“The Purple Roads initiative will drive awareness and support for the Road to Recovery program, which helps patients get the treatment they need, and getting treatment means more survivors,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing. “We hope at least one million people will help celebrate survivors and the people who support them by joining Chevrolet in the Purple Your Profile movement for World Cancer Day.”

“Lack of transportation can be a significant barrier to staying on track with cancer treatment,” said Lin Mac Master, chief revenue marketing and communications officer for the American Cancer Society. “Patients are often too sick to drive themselves, and the demands of work and family life make it difficult for caregivers  to drive patients to all treatments. The need is even more acute in areas lacking reliable public transportation.
“Chevy’s generous contribution will help the American Cancer Society put cancer patients back on the road to recovery, helping us ensure those in need of a ride to potentially lifesaving treatment get one.”
According to Transportation and Cancer Care, an estimated 3.6 million Americans each year delay or have difficulty obtaining needed medical care because they lack affordable transportation.
The Purple Roads program joins Chevrolet’s ongoing support of the American Cancer Society, which includes the recent $1.1-million donation on behalf of partnering Chevrolet dealers to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and 11 years of in-kind and monetary support for the Detroit Cattle Barons Ball.
For more information on the Purple Roads initiative and instructions on how to Purple Your Profile, visit chevy.com/purpleroads.

News For the 2015 Chevy Cruze

Parkway Chevrolet has been following the news on the new 2015 Chevy Cruze from the New York Auto Show. To say the refresh performed on the 2015 Chevy Cruze is mild would be an understatement. Besides a new fascia that more closely follows Chevy's corporate styling theme as seen on the Malibu and Impala, there is very little to visually set the new Cruze apart from the old. Whether the updated look is an improvement is up for debate, but we're sure all 2015 Cruze shoppers will be pleased with the increased functionality of the car's in-cabin technology.

The 2015 Cruze boasts a seven-inch touch screen in the center console powered by the latest versions of the brand's OnStar and MyLink software packages. With it comes the ability to act as a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, Siri Eyes Free for iPhone iOS 6 and iOS 7 users, and, soon, access to the new Chevrolet AppShop. The interior sees a few minor improvements, such as reshaped cupholders and some switches and buttons that have been made more conveniently accessible.

As we said, the updates are all pretty minor, but we’re more than positive that the updates are a sheer improvement on the overall luxury to the vehicle. The visual ascetic to the vehicle is one that we feel will allow the brand to continue to move in the uniform direction that the entire Chevy line is trending. We will keep our ear to the road for you, and keep you posted on any other updates.

Chevrolet is Bringing the Trax SUV to the U.S. and China

Parkway Chevrolet is keeping their ear to the ground in regards to the news surrounding the Chevrolet Trax.
The Chevrolet Trax will go on sale in the U.S. and China early next year. General Motors Co. unveiled the 2015 model Tuesday evening ahead of the New York International Auto Show.

GM thinks young buyers and downsizing Baby Boomers who like the Chevy Equinox and the Honda CR-V will go even smaller, as long as they can still sit up high. The Trax, which shares a platform with Chevrolet's Sonic subcompact, is the same length as a Volkswagen Beetle — 168.5 inches.

The compact SUV's dimensions (and engine, for that matter) are the same as GM's new Buick Encore, which has seen stronger-than-expected sales since it went on sale in January 2013. Encore sales more than doubled in the first three months of this year compared with the same period last year. The Trax has been sold since 2012 in Canada and Mexico. It is sold as the Chevrolet Tracker in Russia , South America and other markets.

In terms of size, the Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan Juke are close competitors, but there aren't many others. The Trax's body style is unusual in the U.S., where the smallest SUVs tend to be around 175 inches or longer.

But that's changing. The Jeep Renegade SUV, a Fiat-based subcompact revealed last month in Geneva, goes on sale in the U.S. at the end of this year. Honda has teased an upcoming small SUV. And other automakers that sell tiny SUVs elsewhere could quickly bring them to the U.S. if customers demand them. Chevrolet forecasts global small SUV sales will jump 80 percent by 2016.

Gas prices in the U.S. could dictate how well subcompact SUVs sell. The Energy Department expects gasoline to average $3.45 a gallon this year, down from $3.51 a year ago. The agency expects the average to fall to $3.37 a gallon in 2015.

The Trax for the U.S. market will be built in South Korea and Mexico.

INSIDE: The Trax promises some higher-end features, including a standard keyless entry, standard rear-view camera and optional OnStar 4G cellular and WiFi hotspot capability. It has 48.4 cubic feet of cargo space and flat-folding rear and front passenger seats for more flexibility. It also has 10 standard air bags, including knee air bags and the segment's only rear seat-mounted thorax air bags.

OUTSIDE: It's wide and solid despite its small size. Sixteen-inch wheels are standard on LS and LT trim levels. The LYZ has 18-inch aluminum wheels. All-wheel drive is available.

UNDER THE HOOD: Trax is powered by the Ecotec 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is expected to get 138 horsepower. It's mated to a six-speed transmission.

GAS MILEAGE: 26 mpg city, 34 mpg highway

PRICE: Not yet released, but it starts at around $17,000 in Canada.

CHEERS: GM is at the leading edge of a big trend with the Trax, which appeals to both young buyers and Baby Boomers who want to downsize but still want to sit up high.

JEERS: Buyers are bypassing subcompact cars as gas prices stabilize. They may do the same with tiny SUVs.

With the second- and third-row seats folded flat, the all-new Tahoe offers 94.7 cu. ft. of cargo-space.

BECAUSE THE QUIETEST TAHOE JUST GOT QUIETER

Creating a quiet cabin environment was a major focus for our engineers when they designed this full-size SUV. Their noise-reduction efforts extended to other areas, including isolating noise in the engine compartment and using acoustic wheel liners to absorb road and stone-throw noise.
Tahoe features an acoustic-laminated windshield and triple-sealed inlaid doors to help reduce wind and exterior noise in the cabin. Additional exterior/interior dash insulation and a thicker floor barrier in critical areas isolates exhaust and underbody noise.
The result? The quietest Tahoe ever. A drive that’s hushed and peaceful and an environment that lets you hear music and conversations.

-Hands-free convenience

The next-generation available Chevrolet MyLink lets you customize the system to your needs and sync up to 10 devices via Bluetooth. Stay connected with your hands safely on the steering wheel using Bluetooth® wireless technology. Simply pair your compatible Bluetooth-enabled smartphone with Chevrolet MyLink or connect through one of the six available USB ports, and you can have access to your entire contact list, personal playlists and select mobile apps.

-Ultimate convenience

Tahoe offers available keyless access. This easy-to-use feature allows you to simply press the button on the door handle to unlock the door. And then as long as the key fob is inside the vehicle, you can start the engine with the push of a button. You can also start Tahoe remotely, schedule service appointments and more, thanks to the convenience of the available OnStar® RemoteLink Key Fob service and myChevrolet mobile apps.

-Connect from every seat

Bring your technology with you and stay completely connected wherever you’re headed, whenever you’re on the road. With up to 12 charging locations, including up to six USB ports to connect phones, plus a 110-volt three-prong plug to charge your laptop and other devices, you'll always stay connected in your Tahoe.

-Make it custom

Customize your driving experience by arranging the icons and features on the available Chevrolet MyLink 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen. Choose the information or options you use most and place them on your home screen. The interface allows you to touch and swipe on the screen just like you do on your smartphone. The touch-screen also lifts to reveal hidden lockable storage behind the display. There’s even a USB port to charge your phone or other electronic devices while storing them. In Valet Mode, the screen is passcode-protected to help keep valuable items safe and securely out of reach.

A COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

-Safe and secure

The all-new 2015 Tahoe features a host of available driver assistance technologies. Front Park Assist helps when maneuvering Tahoe in tight parking situations. Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert use radar sensors in the rear quarter panels to detect fast approaching vehicles from up to 230 feet away in the adjacent lane or blind zone and warn drivers of their presence. Cameras and radar sensors surround the vehicle and operate together to help ensure drivers are aware of the road — and their surroundings.

The class-exclusive, available theft-protection package helps keep your all-new Tahoe secure. Strategically placed window sensors, interior motion detectors and a revolutionary inclination sensor that measures any tilt of the vehicle are just a few of the security technologies.

-Class-exclusive safety features

Tahoe features a standard front center air bag (with standard front bucket seats), designed to activate between the driver and front passenger to offer added protection in side-impact collisions. A 360-degree sensor system to ensure optimal air bag deployment comes standard and includes sensors on every door, a rollover sensor, and front and rear impact monitors.

-The foundation of safety

A strong frame is key to helping keep people safer. You can drive with confidence knowing that the all-new Tahoe has a reinforced safety cage with strategically placed crush zones to help maintain the integrity of the passenger compartment in the event of a collision. High-strength steel in the A- and B-pillars and roof rails and added roof reinforcements help improve safety in potential rollover collisions.

-Safety and technology combined

Tahoe comes equipped with class-exclusive safety features and driver assist technologies that offer drivers and their passengers 360 degrees of protection.

UNCOMPROMISING, REFINED PERFORMANCE

-A blend of capability and efficiency

It starts with the world-class EcoTec3 5.3L V8, an all-new engine designed to generate more power and offer better fuel economy than any large SUV in the industry – an EPA-estimated 23 MPG highway– without sacrificing performance. The strong, efficient EcoTec3 V8 generates 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, giving you the confidence to handle just about any driving situation.

-Lighter, stiffer suspension

The all-new Tahoe features a lighter suspension, to help improve fuel economy. Yet, it’s also stiffer to maintain the excellent ride, handling and capability that Tahoe is known for. The result: Front springs that are 25% stiffer than the previous generation, aluminum control arms that are lighter and stiffer, plus a coil-over-shock suspension that is precisely tuned for superior ride and handling. With lighter weight components, you won't have to sacrifice capability. Tahoe offers a maximum towing capacity of up to 8,500 lbs. — plenty of power to tow boats, ATVs and whatever else you want to bring along.

2014 Chevy Corvette

Parkway Chevrolet loves the word “Corvette.” But, it isn’t just a word. For the designers of the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray, it was a mantra. Throwing off the constraints of tradition, our engineers started from scratch to build a revolutionary sports car with the performance prowess, aesthetic impact and fine craftsmanship worthy of the Stingray emblem.
Born through a synthesis of precision engineering and racing technology, the 2014 Corvette Stingray is a stunning argument against the ordinary. A lighter, more rigid aluminum space frame replaces its predecessor’s steel frame. The use of carbon-fiber and carbon-nano- composite structures further reduces weight to achieve optimal handling, balance and acceleration. Executed with beauty and proportion, every millimeter of Stingray serves its purpose. Geometric shapes transition smoothly from soft curve to crisp edge. Air flows effortlessly to reduce drag and optimize performance. Increased down-force keeps the vehicle planted, while functional exterior vents create a totally new breathing experience to reduce lift and minimize drag. The advanced ventilation systems help air flow from front to back, cooling critical components to improve vehicle handling. Stunning design, meet racing strategy. This Corvette marks the seventh generation of an iconic sports car backed by 60 years of tradition. And the Stingray is designed to challenge every expectation.
For the first time ever, the Corvette coupe and convertible both use an identical rigid aluminum frame structure. Designed as an open-top vehicle from the outset, no additional reinforcements are required. The vehicle remains a pure, precision-born machine. To some drivers, the convertible Stingray is the only Stingray. This year, the convertible features a fully electronic top that can be lowered remotely using the key fob or while driving at speeds up to 30 mph — without the need for mechanical latches. With the top up, a thick design ensures maximum sound absorption for a quiet cabin allowing you to drown out jealous Houston drivers. And when you decide to put the top down, it hides beneath a body-color tonneau cover that flows down in a waterfall design between the seats. The Stingray coupe can also become an open-top vehicle, with a carbon-fiber roof panel so light just one person can remove it and stow it in the trunk. Available removable roof panel options include: body color, visible carbon fiber and transparent.
A performance vehicle is experienced from the driver seat, and Stingray has a cockpit worthy of a fighter jet. Illuminated by innovative digital features and intelligent driver controls, it’s a stunning change from your typical interior scenery. A sweeping free-form line spans the instrument panel and flawlessly carries over into the door trim and console. Every inch is imbued with a deep respect for authentic materials. Real aluminum. Available carbon fiber. Available hand-selected leather. This is Corvette, elevated to a whole new level. The available hand-stretched, leather-wrapped instrument panel is hand-sewn with an eye to meticulous fit and finish. Lightweight aluminum accents adorn the doors, pedals, gear-shift and cockpit instrumentation. A smaller, race-inspired steering wheel enhances grip and driving feel, featuring paddles that initiate Active Rev Matching on the manual transmission or manual shifting on the available 6-speed paddle-shift transmission with automatic mode. You can even upgrade your experience with carbon-fiber trim and suede microfiber upper interior trim. The intuitive instrument cluster bears two ultra-bright 8-inch diagonal high-definition LED screens. The center console entertainment interface features a retractable, tablet-inspired touch-screen. And an available color Head-Up Display projects critical data into the driver’s line of vision on the windshield.
Performance driving is experienced from the interior, so every line, every stitch and every accent must honor craftsmanship — and serve the driver. The completely redesigned GT seat is mounted on a lightweight magnesium frame and cradles the driver for optimal comfort and support. Precision hand stitching finishes each and every contour. Premium natural-grain Napa leather is included with 3LT. An available Competition Sport seat builds on the same lightweight magnesium frame. This seat provides maximum support for cornering, with more pronounced side bolsters designed for high-performance driving on the track. Upgrades to suede microfiber inserts are available for the seats and include suede microfiber wrap for the steering wheel and gearshift.
Influenced by Corvette Racing technology, the 2014 Corvette Stingray was designed to be an instrument of precision — and light, stiff materials make all the difference. Aluminum and carbon fiber contribute to a 50/50 weight distribution and a world-class power-to-weight ratio for optimal handling and acceleration. The all-aluminum space frame structure is 57% stiffer and 100 lbs. lighter than the steel-frame sixth-generation Corvette. Stingray also makes judicious use of carbon fiber to further reduce weight and improve handling. A carbon-fiber removable roof panel, a carbon-fiber hood, as well as carbon-nano-composite body structures optimize weight balance and center of gravity. On its journey to reinventing a legend, Stingray underwent stringent performance trials. On the track at Road Atlanta, engine temperatures were pushed to the max during repeated hot laps. On the roads of the Houston, TX camouflaged test prototypes blurred past onlookers to ensure the same performance outcomes. And in the lab, tilt-dyno testing simulated extreme driving conditions to test engine durability and resilience.
Methodically constructed to be the lightest and stiffest to date, the Stingray aluminum space frame employs an evolutionary approach to precision engineering. One-third the weight of steel, aluminum improves rigidity, which in turn enhances cornering and handling. Lightweight carbon-nano-composite underbody panels bond to aluminum, while strategic use of cool joining processes minimizes inconsistencies and maximizes bond strength. This revolutionary chassis improves torsional rigidity, reducing noise and elevating performance to an art. An all-new 7-speed manual transmission complements the LT1 V8 powerhouse that propels Stingray. The rear transaxle location enables a 50/50 vehicle weight balance which optimizes handling. Intelligent sensors anticipate gear selections and match engine speed for smooth transitions during both upshifts and downshifts. Active Rev Matching enhances the driving experience by offering heel-toe shifting perfection at the touch of a switch. A 6-speed paddle-shift transmission is also available and offers improved shift times in manual mode.
The new Driver Mode Selector allows you to easily customize your Stingray driving experience with the turn of just one dial. By selecting one of five distinct driver modes — Weather, Eco, Tour, Sport or Track — Stingray controls the complexity of up to a dozen separate performance variables. Without the hassle of conventional buttons or levers, drivers can automatically adjust steering, throttle progression, traction control and more, just by choosing the right mode for the road.

Parkway Chevrolet wants to be you final destination when it comes to the word “Corvette.” They could not be more proud of the innovations that have been accomplished with the vehicle. If you have any additional questions regarding the vehicle, please visit our web site or message us on Facebook.

http://www.parkwaychevrolet.com/new-inventory/index.htm?listingConfigId=auto-new&year=2014&model=Camaro&bodyStyle=&trim=&internetPrice=&start=0&sort=&facetbrowse=true&searchLinkText=SEARCH&showFacetCounts=true&showRadius=false&showSubmit=true&showSelections=true

Parkway Chevrolet loves adrenaline, and this is sheer adrenaline. You sense it in the iconic shape. You feel it in the agile, quick-to-respond handling. It’s the serious attitude. Everything about Camaro that has always ignited passion is advanced further. This is the 2014 Camaro. Experience it.

From deep-set eyes to sculpted rear shoulders, the shape of Camaro is pure emotion. This is Camaro in cool, classic form, with a refined look that enhances this iconic shape. A redesigned front fascia with a wider, lower opening offers improved cooling and reduced aerodynamic lift. The RS Exterior Appearance Package, available on LT and SS, takes Camaro temptation to an even hotter level. High intensity discharge headlamps with LED halo rings and the new chrome-accented grille add mysterious allure, while restyled LED tail lamps are a brilliant tribute to the 1969 Camaro. 20-inch Midnight Silver painted wheels with summer-only tires complete the powerful statement. SS makes an emphatic performance statement for 2014 with a new functional hood air extractor for more efficient engine “breathing.” New SS-specific grille and lower extensions add to an aggressive look that is nothing short of pure adrenaline making drives down Sam Houston Toll-way excitinig.

Why does Camaro look the way it does? This is performing art. Every line, every curve amplifies the technology within. From its wider grille that forces more air to the 426-horsepower V8 to the strategically shaped rear spoiler and sculpted rear deck, the 2014 Camaro SS is aerodynamically designed to reduce lift. 20-inch wheels and Pirelli® P ZERO™ high performance summer-only tires, on RS and SS models, were specifically chosen to deliver track-competitive traction and cornering power. “Everything about the ZL1 design is directly related to its technology and serious performance, especially aerodynamics,” says Ed Welburn, GM vice president of global design. The shape of the 580-horsepower ZL1 – featuring lower grille splitter, single-piece rockers with wheel extensions, cooling ducts for the Brembo® brakes, and underbody belly pan – is designed to maximize down-force. When you combine all the features and performance of the Camaro Coupe with a power-folding top that retracts in about 20 seconds, the clouds practically chase themselves away. Choose from Camaro Convertible, SS Convertible or the supercharged ZL1 Convertible. Camaro ZL1, Z/28 and SS all feature specific hood extractors that allow air entering from the lower grille to escape from the hood, reducing lift.

Camaro is designed to make every drive as rewarding and instinctive as possible. Instrumentation is exact. Seats are deeply bolstered and carefully tailored. Depending on model, choose from Sport Cloth or leather appointments. LT, SS and ZL1 models include 6-way power driver and front passenger seats. Take it up another notch with a new and very dramatic Blue Interior Accent Trim Package, available on 2LT and 2SS models. All-new RECARO® driver and front passenger performance seats are available on SS Coupe and ZL1 Coupe and standard on Z/28. Competition-tuned bolstering and suede microfiber provide a premium appearance and planted feel in aggressive driving situations you may encounter on Houston Highways. The new color Driver Information Center, standard on 2LT, 2SS and ZL1 models, lets you monitor vital statistics including tire pressure, oil life, fuel range and more. Also new for 2014: a color Head-Up Display for instant readouts of miles per hour and lateral g data. A 4-pack of auxiliary gauges – standard on 2LT, 2SS and ZL1 models – provides readouts for oil pressure and transmission temperature as it delivers a stylistic tribute to the first-generation Camaro interior.

Any way you order it, Camaro is a precision-tuned, highly acclaimed performer. The 3.6L 323-horsepower dual overhead cam V6 engine, standard in LS and LT Coupe and LT Convertible, features the advanced technologies of Direct Injection and Variable Valve Timing. Bottom line? The 3.6L Camaro will propel you from 0 to 60 in 6.4 seconds. It offers an EPA-estimated 30 MPG on the highway. Camaro elevates finesse and balance to an art form. The sophisticated 4.5-link independent rear suspension lets Camaro hug corners with smooth confidence. This is chassis technology you won’t find on Ford Mustang. With a standard 6-speed manual transmission, Traction Control and StabiliTrak,® Camaro further tempers power with control.

At the heart of SS: the latest generation of the timeless Chevrolet V8 engine. You can pair this 6.2L V8 with a 6-speed manual transmission and launch control. Equipped this way, Camaro SS puts down 426 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. Or you can have the best of both worlds with an available 6-speed automatic transmission that incorporates Active Fuel Management™ with 400 horsepower for an EPA-estimated 24 MPG on the highway and TAPshift® for on-the-fly gear changes. Either way, automatic or manual, Camaro SS will intimidate any would-be competitor. SS achieves its enviable balance of precision and responsiveness via a uniquely tuned suspension. Weight distribution is a near-ideal 52/48. Track-tested details include SS-specific stabilizer bars and dampers, along with electric power steering and the exceptional stopping power of Brembo® brakes with 20-inch wheels and Pirelli® P ZERO™ high-performance summer-only tires. For more than two decades, owners and enthusiasts alike have coveted the competition-ready third- and fourth-generation Camaro 1LE Performance Package. 1LE combines the white-knuckle performance elements of the ZL1 and SS with a decidedly aggressive attitude of its own. The 2014 Camaro SS 1LE boasts its own FE6 Performance Ride and Handling Suspension, Goodyear® Eagle® F1 Supercar® Gen 2 summer-only tires, TREMEC® 6-speed manual transmission and a track-proven, upgraded chassis and body structure. Paired with a 3.91 final-drive ratio and ZL1-based 20-inch forged-aluminum wheels, 1LE is tuned for road-racing performance.

Lightweight, dry-sump LS7 V8 engine. Carbon ceramic brakes. Integrated coolers for track use. True aerodynamic down-force. Significant reduction in curb weight. Every detail is engineered specifically to create the ultimate track experience. The 2014 Camaro Z/28 restores the mission of the original Z/28, and serves as a testament to the expertise of Chevrolet as the best-selling brand of performance cars. Powered by the hand-assembled LS7 V8 – the most powerful naturally aspirated, regular production, small block V8 ever, with an estimated 500 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. Lightweight components such as titanium intake valves and connecting rods, coupled with a forged-steel crankshaft, make the LS7 engine incredibly robust. Nearly 200 changes were made for uncompromised track performance. The lightweight chassis offers increased maximum cornering grip of 1.05 g. Get consistent lap-after-lap stopping power and 1.5 g in deceleration with a robust Brembo® carbon ceramic brake system. Z/28 curb weight was reduced by 300 pounds compared to the ZL1, with changes from thinner rear-window glass to forged-aluminum wheels wrapped in high-performance Pirelli® P Zero™ Trofeo R summer-only tires. Even air conditioning and insulation were removed. There’s only one interior speaker – just for the safety belt chime. “We set out to make the fastest road-racing Camaro possible that was still street legal,” says Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer.

Parkway Chevrolet is extremely impressed with the innovations that were made on the 2014 Chevy Camaro. This timeless classic continues to impress and wow to this day. If you have any questions, feel free to check out our website or message us on Facebook.
